Struggling
This language has taken a lot of time and energy out of my life and even after 3 years, where did I get? Practically almost nowhere, every time when I feel I’ve gotten to a point that I could maybe have conversations, I listen to a conversation of real Japanese people and I just get pressed against the ground with 5 tons of reality on me. It’s just soo demotivating to keep studying a language by yourself and not feeling any progression.
Everyday when you study, you pump yourself up and are happy with your progress and think that you are almost there. But reality is hard, especially when you are self studying. When you study a language in class, you often hear the language being spoken properly. That is your daily/weekly wake-up call that you need to practice harder.
I will get there someday, but for today I’ll be having a feeling down day.
